Best Time to Visit
December to April for dry weather. Visit at sunrise (5-7 AM) or late afternoon to avoid heat.
Weather & Climate
Hot and humid tropical climate. Temperatures range from 27°C to 35°C. Can be quite hot during midday.

Entrance fee: USD 30 for adults. Additional charges for photography may apply.
Language
Sinhala and English. Guides available at the entrance for approximately USD 15-20.
Local Tips & Insider Advice
- Arrive at opening time (5 AM) for cooler temperatures and fewer crowds
- Wear comfortable shoes with good grip - stairs can be steep and slippery
- Bring plenty of water - the climb is strenuous in the heat
- Watch out for wasps near the summit and remain calm if encountered
- The entire climb takes approximately 2-3 hours round trip
- Photography is allowed but be respectful near the frescoes
